Save Thousands With This One Word!
Saturday, February 5th, 2011I have to tell you, an internet business is not an easy business… it still takes a good amount of knowledge, skill and understanding of your niche and internet marketing, or a whole bunch of money. After that it requires a lot of hard work, time and effort to what is required to get things moving, or a whole bunch of money. Now if you are like I was, you probably don’t have much money, if any, to spend on getting your website or niche business up and running. I basically was trying to do anything I could for free, which is why I want to offer you as much information as i can about how you can do this without being scammed or hyped out of your precious dollars.
So here’s the deal!!
The best advice I’ve ever received that saved me more money than any other thing…
I mean literally hundreds to thousands of dollars…
This is very important so please pay attention…
FOCUS
That’s it! That right there helped me more than almost anything else I have ever learned. And not just with my internet business, but also with my personal offline business (which is now beginning to skyrocket as we speak… If you are wondering what it is, I host Adventure Retreats in the US, Hawaii, Italy, and New Zealand, with expansions to Australia and French Polynesia in 2012). Focus has also helped me in my personal life.
Let me explain!
Most of the problems I had when I started my adventure business (and my internet business) I had so many ideas and so many things I wanted to do and try and every day I read more things about more things that did more things that I was caught up in wasting my time on following rabbits down several different paths each day. Every time I heard of something new, I followed it. I wanted in the the newest, hottest secret of all time… unfortunately after I bought the product and read it from cover to cover or watched every video, I would find something new to learn from or buy, the next hot tip of the year… Now I wouldn’t say that it was necessarily money down the drain, because I learned A TON! I simply didn’t have the time to implement everything and was spending money I didn’t have. Even in my retreat business I wanted to host retreats all over the place. Some places i had been, some i hadn’t, some sounded awesome and others where just a passing thought.. My mind would race at night with all the ideas I had and all the things I had to do and all the places I wanted to go. Then I got the advice that turned EVERYTHING around… It didn’t make me an overnight millionaire, nor did it make me famous, but it did give me more personal time in the day, less money leaving my bank account, and the building blocks to get my business where it is today. Yes, I travel the world with small groups of people and make money! It’s AWESOME!
So what exactly did I mean by FOCUS? And how can you do it too?
Well, the great part is it’s actually pretty easy and once you train yourself to focus instead of following some random evil bunnies who have semi good intentions, you will not even know you are doing it.
Here’s what I suggest you do (this is just what I did.. you do it how ever you want):
It’s easier for me to do this as an example, so let’s pretend you already have your internet business and website and are getting some traffic and trying some things and buying a lot of stuff to help you. This is only example for focusing… you can still do things however you see fit.
Basically you spend day in and day out doing and trying all the new things you read about, buying all the new products to automate everything, or have “Everything Up In Minutes”… You are doing ALL kinds of work all day every day and there doesn’t seem to be much happening on the income side. This is where focus comes in. Pick one or two methods… like writing articles and adding content to your site daily. (by the way that method right there can get you committed and consistent traffic in just a couple months that just keeps going up and up and up… i know because i do that exact thing)
Now here’s where the FOCUS really comes in to save you money and time. every time you read something about a new product or service that doesn’t have anything to do with writing an article or posting new content.. you don’t need to take time on at this point. Save yourself the time of reading things that aren’t going to help you with exactly what you are doing and save yourself the money by not purchasing products that aren’t going to get you any better at what you are doing.. some things just take time and effort when you start. Easy isn’t always better.
Once this becomes second hand and you get to the point where it’s so easy you can write articles and add content daily in your sleep, you can try a new method and focus on that until it’s easy breezy.
Pick something and stick with it and only it until you know it works or doesn’t work and you can see the results and make a decision.
Where else could the word FOCUS help you?
In my opinion… pretty much everywhere! I use it when I sit down to work. What exactly do I need to get done and what will it take to do it? If something else comes up while I’m working, it can wait until I am finished. If I get a new idea or something I want to try, i’ll jot it down quickly and go back to what I need to finish that day. I have to say, instead of spending hours upon hours in my office working, I now only spend a couple hours (unless I have something huge I need to get done). After I finish I can check my emails a million times or play a quick game to relax or whatever it is that would usually distract me.
Focus on what you want to do and don’t do things that just come up randomly and aren’t necessary. (Prioritizing is a great thing as well.. more on that next time.)
Anyway, I hope this has helped you, I know it may not be very clear what exactly I was trying to say.. but please don’t hesitate to ask if you have a question.
So get out there folks and FOCUS!!
